레드의 달콤한 비밀

Abraham Lincoln's beard

Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States.

It is a story when he takes a fierce campaign against John Breckenridge to become president.

Grace Bethel, an 11-year-old girl from Westfield, New York, wrote to Lincoln in 1860, a Republican presidential candidate.

"Uncle Lincoln, I want you to be good. But your face is too ugly. The chin is jaw-dropping, the eyes are dented, and the cheekbones are so sharp. So our adults say that you are so ugly and ypu do not want to, but if you grow a beard, it will look a lot smoother than it is now."

At the time, politicians were a tradmarked face with a clean face without beard.

Moreover, no one was concerned with the words of an 11-year-old girl.

But Loncoln listened to the girl's advice.

Lincoln raised his beard in earnest trouble. And he was elected president.

On his way from Illinois to Washington,DC. a few weeks after the president's election, he stopped in Westfield and met a girl.

"Gracey, look at my beard. I raised it for you."

The scene where the two people meet is made up of statues and stands on Westfiel, and the girl's letter is kept in the Detroit Public Library.

Those who have a friend who really gives advice when do not want to listen are blessed people.
